The Bulgarian Old Catholic Church (BOCC) is an independent Christian community rooted in the ancient apostolic faith. Founded in Sofia in 2018, we are legally registered as a religious institution in Bulgaria and serve as a small but active part of the wider Old Catholic movement.
We uphold the teachings of the early undivided Church, guided by the Nicene Creed and the decisions of the first seven Ecumenical Councils. Our sacramental life is centred on the Eucharist, with a valid apostolic succession and recognition of all seven classical sacraments.

The BOCC is governed by a synodal structure that includes the Archbishop, Holy Synod, Church Council, and Audit Commission, as well as the active participation of local church communities. - East–West Liturgical Harmony
Our worship blends both Eastern and Western traditions, drawing from the Divine Liturgy and the historic Old Catholic rites. Services are offered in the local language and are marked by dignity, beauty, and theological depth. - Open Table Communion
We welcome all baptized Christians to receive Holy Communion, regardless of their denominational background. Our ministry is inclusive, pastoral, and open-hearted.
Our Mission
We see ourselves as a Church of mercy, committed to spiritual care and social justice. In addition to our ministry within Bulgaria, we support Bulgarian-speaking communities abroad, and maintain pastoral missions in Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Internationally, we collaborate with bishops and clergy in Africa—particularly in Cameroon, Uganda, and Malawi—offering practical support and sacramental ministry where possible.
We also provide an English-language ministry under our jurisdiction, designed to serve those drawn to the Old Catholic tradition in an accessible and welcoming way.
